RedWhite&Blue + NOTD

Hey ya'll, I did a cool electric blueish look with a matte red lip! Guess what was my inspiration for this! On Tuesday night, President Obama gave the State of the Union address & I watched it with my boyfriend. Of course, we wouldn't miss it for the world. <3 I picked different blues for the eye look & a bold, red matte to not only match the American flag but also because of Nancy Pelosi's awesome dress. Lol I love her!!

This lipstick is my mom's & as you can see it's pretty drying lol. My Avon Eternal Flame lipstick is super moisturizing compared to this one but I still like the way it looks. (:

Hey y'all! I picked some things up at Walgreens today teehee. I went into CVS first, looking for the WnW Vanity palette but no luck. Their whole makeup stock was pretty much wiped out. They must've had some awesome sale recently :( Anywho, I went to Walgreens hoping I'd find it there but they didn't have it either. All they had left was Lust & Greed. I already have those but since I use them all the time I bought some extras. If I never use them I could always include them in a giveaway, right? Speaking of which, [let's derail for a minute lol] I'm not sure when I should have my first giveaway. I've seen most girls have theirs at 100 followers but since I want my first giveaway to be pretty big & well worth it, I'm thinking maybe I should wait 'til 200 followers. So I can save $$ and have time to get some neat treats. Idk, I'm just thinking "outloud". Lol I've also been taking mental notes of the girls I follow & the beauty products they post. I want to get things that will be appreciated & that girls will actually enjoy. Lol But we'll see. Moving along though, I wanted like a topey brown nail polish & picked Vacation Time up cause it looked topey in the bin but once I picked it up, I saw it better but still love it. It's like a muted coral pinkish color. It's really beautiful. The Purple Diamond polish is a very light Violet color with an iridescent-ish shimmer. They're gorgeous. The eyeshadow trio comes with a cream color as the brow bone, a milk chocolate brown as the crease, & a soft pink as the eyelid color. All three colors are shimmery, velvety & very pigmented. I love that WnW has such great quality eyeshadows for such an awesome price. All this I got for around $20.

L.A. Colors Moisturizing Lipgloss in Pink Pearl

Picked this baby up for get this.. $1. Lol I've never tried their lip glosses & for a dollar, I expected sticky or very watered down gloss. But by the same token, at a dollar, I wouldn't lose much to find out just what the gloss was like. It's a shimmery baby pink & the formula is very moisturizing without being sticky. So I'm definitely sold. Another great product at a very good price. <3

Depotting WnW Palettes??

Yes!! I just saw this awesome post from Cathy @ My Pinktastic Life & I thought it was absolutely genius! It's such a hassle going through all the little trios & palettes. Especially since the WnW palettes are the only shadows I use on a practically daily basis so I lovveee this idea!

Crafty Shmafty+Cherry Blossom NOTD

Hey ya'll! Well this past week I got some cute little things from my lovely phrand/future sis-inlaw, Claudia♥

Hello Kitty Bank (Paint Your Own) 

She came all white & with a set of paints & a little paint brush. I initially wanted to paint her all black but I don't think the paint set had enough black for all of that. So I opted for simple & sweet. I now wish I had painted her bow red but it's still super cutee. I love herr. She has a little coin slot in the back & yes I've already started saving $$ Haa.

Lip Balms

I thought this was so freakin adorable. Yes, I realize it says "creativity for kids" lol but look how cute they are! You mix the flavors.colors together to make your own personalized lip balm & it comes with stickers to decorate the little containers but I was feeling especially creative & decided to paint things on the lids using the little paints from the HKitty bank. Haa I think they turned out pretty neat. Notice how crappy my kiwi looks but how awesome (so I think) my Jimi Hendrix came out.. the kiwi took longer too lol & frustrated me 'cause I couldn't get it right. The kiwi still doesn't look right. =/ I painted the Hendrix one freehand by looking at these pictures. I even named my lip balms, that's how into it I am. Lol my line of lipbalms will be coming to a Dephora (Dinorah+Sephora) near you.♥

I tried to recreate this but didn't add the glitter at the end. I loved how it looked before that. <3 Excuse my short bitten nails lol I had a check up with my doc last week & I always get extremely nervous on those. Haa.

Sweet Sweet January + NOTD

 

Pineapple Upside Down Cake.

       I went really light on the brown sugar 'cause I didn't want it to get gooey & runny. It was my first time making one of these & I think it came out pretty darn delicious. It was a box yellow cake though, so I can't take much credit lol. I literally Youtubed 'pineapple upside down cake' & followed step by step what the girl in the video said. It was my Tia Dora's birthday on New Year's Day so we had a cookout for her at our house & I made her this cake. She wasn't even expecting to do anything for her birthday except spend it with the family so she was pretty surprised. Haa. She's like my second mother. She's always been there for me & I know I'm not supposed to say but she's definitely my favorite aunt. <3

Chocolate Covered Strawberries. 

      We couldn't get a hold of the ginormous strawberries so we just did it with the normal ones. I did this as a favor to my little brother. Haa. He wanted them to give to his girlfriend. They turned out pretty delish! I mean, I wouldn't know. Teehee. (: Next time, I'm going to have to get the giant strawberries though. I think they'd look a lot better!

Crochet-licious! Scarf Update.

      Hey guys! So I've been mostly done with my scarf for awhile now. I'm just waiting on my aunt to help me out with the fringe at the end. But she appears to have taken a mini vacation lol so I'll just show you what I have done. (: [Click images to enlarge]

The beginning.

      Again, it's not completely done 'cause i still need to close it & I need the fringe at the end. But as far as actual knitting goes, I'm done. (: It actually took me longer than I thought it would because the holidays kind of got in the way & like I said before, it looks a little rough but it's my first one so I'm alright with it. I must say though, it's a hell of a lot easier than I thought it would be. The problems I had with it are minor & according to my aunt, will get even easier with practice. I have trouble keeping the stitches the same size & I've noticed that I grip the hook too much which makes my hand cramp up faster & more often. On the plus side, I'm a lot better than that first day. Haa.

      Finished Scarf: My aunt made me this black one. It's adorable & I added a cute silver pin to it. She said once we finish mine off, we can start going into different stitches. This stitch is called the single stitch & the crochet hook I used is a 1/9-5.50mm, which I got at WalMart along with the Red Heart Super Saver yarn $8.49 (364yds) in the color Real Teal. Overall, I've had an awesome experience with this. I really recommend giving it a try if you're really into crafts & making things yourself. Also, you need a lottt of patience 'cause I swear, that first day I was getting frustrated & wanted to quit right away. I'm glad I stuck with it though! <3

Happy New Year! + FOTD

      Happy New Year, everyone! I hope everyone brought in the new year with wonderful people & had lots of fun! <3 I spent it at home, knitting (update coming soon), chit-chatting with my boyfriend & drinking sparkling grape juice. Haa. So good. 2010 was an awesome year, all the way up until the last minute. I don't regret much from the year. It was both good & bad but for me, the good by far outweighed the bad & I'm very thankful for that! I'm glad I got through it with strong, supportive, loving people in my life. I hope the new year will continue to give us health, wisdom, new opportunities & lots of love & unity. <3 Now let's get down to the makeup!!!

FOTD : New Year's Eve.

WnW's Lust Palette & Princessa's Pearl Powder Eyeshadow. 

Again, I'm so in love with the Lust palette! I used the right highlight color on my inner corner & the lids; The two bottom colors on the outer corner. I love these two colors, they're so unique & gorgeous. I used the right highlight color again on my brow bone & dabbed some of the Princessa loose powder on the inner corners & on my lid a little with a wet brush. I have no clue where Princessa products are sold. My aunt gave it to me a longgg time ago & I rarely use it but I figured some silver shimmer would be perfect for New Year's Eve. :) Also wearing.. ELF Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Black & Mabelline's Define-A-Lash mascara -_- I hate this mascara btw. I'm never using it again lol it made my lashes really really hard.

Revlon's Matte Lipstick in Nude & Dots Lipgloss

I wore a nude lip with this but since this lipstick is kind of drying I used a Dots lipgloss over it. I don't know if they still have these I bought it some months ago at Dots & they were in those little accessory bins. I believe it was $ 1.99 or something like that & from ALL the glosses I have.. this is my absolute favorite. The key is.. it's NOT sticky at all. I use to always stick to a matte lip because my experience with lipglosses has always been bad. Especially the MAC lipglasses; it feels like you're slathering honey on your lips lol they're way too sticky than what I'm used to. And I only bought the Dots gloss to get the sale's lady to stop yapping about them & now it's my go-to-gloss. Who would've thunk it. ^.^
